While there’s minimal preparation involved with lash extensions, it’s important to arrive with clean skin and no eye makeup, such as mascara, eyeshadow, and eyeliner. Makeup and other products like moisturizers can create a barrier between your skin and our adhesive bond, so taking this simple step helps your extensions last longer.
Feel free to bring headphones to your appointment and listen to a podcast or music while we apply your lashes, as the process takes about an hour. Or, you can simply take some quiet time for yourself—no worries if you fall asleep.
Do not submerge your lashes under water for 24 to 48 hours after your appointment, as the adhesive needs time to fully bond the extensions and your natural lashes. This includes swimming, steam rooms, and saunas. When you shower or wash your face during this short period, do not put your lashes directly under the water—use your hands to splash water gently around your eyes.
Refrain from rubbing your eyes and sleeping face-down to minimize friction, which can loosen the adhesive and shorten your extensions’ lifespan. Stick to oil-free facial cleansers and gentle skincare products to avoid disturbing the adhesive.
Following these steps and gently brushing out your extensions every day helps you maintain your look for up to 3 weeks. After that, you can schedule a “fill” appointment to fill in any gaps, which takes less time than the original application, also known as a “full set” appointment.

You can absolutely still wear foundation, mascara, and eyeliner, but you should stay away from putting mascara on top of your extensions, as it can break down the adhesive.
