Not all providers’ techniques are equal. At JK Med Spa, we prioritize balance, using dermal fillers to enhance the delicate harmony between your features rather than offset it. This looks different for everyone, so we adjust our techniques to encourage natural-looking, seamless enhancements.
We take the time to study your facial anatomy and understand your vision before administering your injections. Our on-site physician and extensively trained professionals have perfected their precise injection methods, so they can bring your unique vision to life. Bigger isn’t always better, so we focus on proportion, shape, and movement rather than size alone.
It’s completely normal for your lips to swell and/or bruise after receiving injections. Typically, these symptoms peak within 24 to 48 hours of treatment and resolve within 3 to 7 days. You’re free to cover any discoloration with makeup after the first 24 hours, but we recommend opting for a hydrating balm before then.
Avoid blood thinners, alcohol, and strenuous exercise before and after your appointment to minimize these temporary effects. To reduce swelling, we also recommend applying a cool compress to your lips for 15 minutes at a time and sleeping with your head elevated during the first 48 hours.

A lip flip uses wrinkle relaxers like Botox or Xeomin to relax the muscles around the upper lip, allowing it to gently roll outward. This addresses asymmetry between the upper and lower lip and can reduce the appearance of a “gummy” smile.
Lip fillers add structure to the lips themselves, using a gel-like substance to add volume, smooth lines, and reshape them in other areas to address asymmetry. While neither technique is universally better than the other, we’ll help you decide which is best for you based on your vision and our medical expertise.
